Swain Mountain 90% Complete

This was by far one of the hardest jobs we have ever done. The amount of ground water running out of this mountain was ridiculous! We spent days cutting in drainage swales and installing culverts in order to dry it up enough so we would have workable dirt. The dozers looked like they had been in a mud bog by the time we were through! It was a fight to the finish but we prevailed and the track came out awesome. In these pictures the track is about 90% complete, it still needs to be tilled and smoothed out. Basically all of the dozer work is done. Come on out for practice July 10th from 10AM-3PM for the opening weekend.

Lake Whitney 2010

For 2010, RPM Sports called on OTC to be the official track builder for the Lake Whitney National. We had limited time to make track changes due to the weather leading into the event, but we were still able to do some minor things to slow the track down a little. This place was built years ago when bikes didn’t have 55 horsepower out of the box. With that in mind, we made every effort to slow things down as much as we could with the time we had. We had the track looking mint until the day before everything was going to start, when we got hammered with 2+ inches of rain!!! Oh well, at least it looked good when most people arrived, and they could see what we are capable of…

Southern Supercross Park

These tracks are located in Cleveland, Alabama. Over the past 6 years, we have built 10 different tracks for Chad Ward and the supercross park. Southern Supercross features an indoor supercross, outdoor supercross, and an outdoor motocross track. This is the personal training ground for Chad Ward, along with many other top pros making their rounds through the southeast. Trey Canard, Tyler Bowers, and Ryan Sipes are just a few who have trained at Southern Supercross. One of the really cool things about the indoor track, is that it’s actually dug down roughly 8ft. This served two purposes. One was to generate all the dirt for the track (which allowed for quite a bit of excess,) and the other was to lower the floor so no one would hit the ceiling off one of the huge jumps. Unfortunatly, Chad is no longer racing the pro circuit, but we want to give thanks for all of his years of dedication to OTC. Thank you!

Challen Tennant SX

We built this supercross track for up and coming 65/85 rider, Challen Tennant. The track is located in Conroe, Texas. We were actually in Texas at the time building the Cernics Kawasaki team supercross track, when Challens grandfather called us to see if we could come build him something. Three days later, we were there moving dirt. This was a really cool track, it was basically a full blown SX track just shrunken down so that the 65 and 85 bikes could make the jumps. It had all the features of a real SX, including whoops, triples, rhythm sections, and huge bowl corners. (I was dying to get on a pitbike and ride this thing!) This is a good example of how we can generate dirt from a flat area to build a track. We didn’t haul any dirt in to build this track. Basically by lowering the entire grade, we were able to generate enough dirt and still keep positive drainage all the way around. See the before and after pictures.

Traxxas RC Track

Not only do we build supercross and motocross tracks, we also build RC car tracks. Traxxas hired us at Lake Whitney this year to build them this one of a kind RC test track. We have built six of these locally over the past four years. It’s awesome how MX/SX track design transfers over to these cars. Basically, all of the same ideas and obstacles for a dirt bike track can be used with these.

Atomic MX

This track is located in Rushford, New York, and it sits on just under 100 acres. We had to work diligently with the DEC on this job, as there was a freshwater stream running through the bottom of the property. OTC designed a stormwater runoff plan, executed it, and completed the project with no fines or warnings from the DEC. We built a 2.2 mile motocross track that sprawls over roughly 50 acres of the property. We used every natural rise and valley we could find to make this a true motocross heaven. The track features a full sprinkler system that we also laid out and installed. This track is one of the best kept secrets in the country!

Before Build Stadium X

The space was 150X300ft, and we were able to build the tracks in 2 LONG days.

After Build Stadium X

We saw some great racing from beginners to pros and had nothing but good reviews by all. These events were a true testament to OTC’s ability to build a safe track for a beginner, and also a challenging fun track for the pro’s.
